JOB OVERVIEW

  • Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 7a7p and 7p7a COVERAGE DATES
  • Flexible schedule based on facility needs
  • Minimum of 5 shifts per month required
  • Estimated 14 shifts total for full-time coverage

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: All ages
  • Patient Volume/Census: ~15 patients/day
  • Admissions: Yes
  • Case Mix: Emergency cases (general and trauma)

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency medicine equipment
  • Specialty Backup Available: Limited, some subspecialties not onsite
  • Reason for Coverage: Additional physician coverage for ED

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
  • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (expedited for clean files)
  • Onboarding: Required (orientation and EMR training)
  • Credentialing Timeline: 90 days standard

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • General emergency procedures as documented in 24-month procedure log
  • Emergency intubations (documentation of last 5 if not EM-boarded)
  • Standard EM procedures per provider scope
  • ATLS procedures (required for all providers)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active New Mexico medical license,
  • ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM, or other equivalent BC (ABPS/NBPAS not accepted)
  • NM CSR
  • DEA with NM address
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS (waived if EM-boarded), ATLS
  • Other Qualifications: procedure logs covering past 24 months required, documentation of last 5 intubations if not EM-boarded, 3 peer references, department chair reference, immunization records.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide emergency medical care for all presenting patients
  • Work 12-hour shifts in a low-volume ED (~5,550 annual visits)
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to stabilize and admit patients as needed
  • Accurately document all patient encounters using Epic EMR
  • Participate in onboarding activities and adhere to facility protocols
