Network Chief of Emergency and Trauma Services Location: Central New York (based in Cooperstown) MD/DO with Board Certification in Emergency Medicine Job Summary A leading healthcare network in rural upstate New York is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee emergency and trauma services across six emergency departments and two convenient care locations, serving approximately 82,500 visits annually. The main site is a Level 3 Trauma Center and certified STEMI and Comprehensive Stroke Center. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and clinical leadership for emergency medicine across multiple locations Establish a unified departmental structure tailored to system-wide needs Standardize care and improve outcomes through quality initiatives Manage staffing, workflows, and patient throughput Foster interdisciplinary collaboration with nursing, hospital medicine, trauma, and stroke teams Lead recruitment and retention efforts, including support for an APC Fellowship program Oversee departmental budget and resource allocation Participate in system-wide leadership and operational committees Split role: 60% administrative, 40% clinical Develop a regional departmental structure with potential for expanded admin support Minimum Qualifications MD/DO with Board Certification in Emergency Medicine Eligibility for New York State medical license Proven leadership in emergency medicine, quality initiatives, and recruitment Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $500,000 $530,000 $200,000 sign-on bonus Up to $10,000 in relocation support Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, generous PTO Retirement plans: 403(b), 457(b) Emphasis on work-life balance and professional growth
