Locum Emergency Medicine Physician - Independence, MO
Hourly + Travel Expenses
Position specific questions
• Reason for the need? New facility.
• Is there a specific start date needed? 9/8/25 (tentative).
• Duration of need? Ongoing.
• What’s the schedule? On-site, weekends, nights
o Are there specific dates needed? Variable.
o If call is involved, what is call volume? How often do they get called back on-site? N/A.
o Call/Rotation schedule? N/A.
• Will they take an APP (or SFA when applicable)? No (may change based on future needs).
• What are expectations for orientation? Hospital orientation. Shadow shift.

• Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? No.
• Experience level? ABEM/ABOEM board certified/eligible.

• What are the shift times? 7a-7p, 7p-7a.
• Is call involved? No.
• What procedures are required? ABEM/ABOEM-endorsed procedures, e.g. laceration repairs,
fracture reductions, intubations, central lines, etc.
• What does the support staff include? ?RN x1. Imaging tech x1.
• What is the average patient census? TBD. Estimated 18/day.
• What are the most common cases the locum will see?
• Annual ER admissions? TBD.
• Does the unit use robots? If so, what kind? ?Yes, teleneurology/telepsych.
• How often are the locums called back on site if on call? N/A.
• How many EM physicians are typically on staff per shift? 1 physician per shift.
