Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Emergency Medicine in Pomeroy, OH
Join a dedicated team at a free-standing emergency department in Pomeroy, Ohio. This facility sees an average of 25-35 patients daily and is staffed by physicians 24/7. The practice offers a supportive environment for healthcare professionals, with shifts of 8-10 available each month. With the unique setup of being a free-standing ED, providers will handle their own documentation but will not be responsible for admissions, which are managed by the Hospitalist team. Ideal candidates must be ready to offer thorough emergency care, with experience in a variety of emergency situations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical care to patients, managing codes when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with mid-level providers and staff in the ED.
- Manage documentation and patient records efficiently.
- Coordinate patient transfers to tertiary centers when required.
- Work a minimum of 5 shifts per month, potentially increasing to 8-10.
- Be available for night and weekend coverage.
Qualifications:
- ABMS or AOA board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Emergency Medicine.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold an active Ohio state medical license or be eligible for IMLC with proof of LOQ.
- Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS.
- COVID vaccination is required.
- Malpractice coverage included in hourly rate.
