Emergency Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens Opportunity
Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced and Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum coverage. This is a high-acuity ED environment with strong subspecialty backup and a focus on quality care initiatives. Must be ABEM certified with a clean file and willing to work both day and night shifts.
Requirements:
- Must be ABEM Board Certified with a minimum of 2 years EM experience (No exceptions)
- Active Illinois license or Compact License accepted
- Must be willing to work both 8 AM – 8 PM and 8 PM – 8 AM 12-hour shifts
- Must participate in EDAP & Acute Stroke Ready Hospital initiatives
Facility Details:
- Annual ED Volume: 14,664 (~40 patients/day)
- Admission Rate: 7%
- ED Beds: 10
- APP Coverage: 12 hours daily
- EMR: Center (Dictation software available)
- Trauma Designation: Stroke Center
- Subspecialty Backup Includes: ENT, Pediatrics, GI, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Surgery, Behavioral Health, Obstetrics
Availability Requirements:
- Earliest available start date
- Number of shifts available per month
- Which month is completely open
- Shift preferences (day, night, blocks, etc.)
- Any unavailable dates in the next 3–6 months
- Any holidays willing to work in the next 3–6 months
Certification Requirements:
- ACLS
- BLS
- DEA
- ABEM Board Certification
