Job Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and life-threatening medical conditions.
Perform emergency medical procedures, including but not limited to intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and resuscitation.
Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care.
Interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory results, to guide clinical decision-making.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to emergency department efficiency.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to provide compassionate care.
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations regarding emergency medicine practice.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in emergency medicine through continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine -OR- Board Certified in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
Minimum of 12 months/2,000 hours of Emergency Medicine experience (post-training)
Active or in-process Ohio Medical License
Clean malpractice & licensing history
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
A list of procedures the provider is experienced in performing
Not accepting new graduates or visa candidates (J1 or H1B)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient care
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Working Hours
12-hour shifts
24 hours/day of physician coverage (12-hour shifts)
14 hours/day of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage
Full-time, permanent position with the possibility of night shifts
Flexibility to work day and night shifts, depending on the schedule and position type (1099 or W2)
Skills
Proficient in emergency medical procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
Strong diagnostic skills for evaluating and managing a wide range of acute conditions.
Ability to work under pressure in high-stress, fast-paced environments while maintaining a focus on patient care.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for making quick, informed decisions in emergency situations.
Ability to handle a wide range of emergency cases, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and more.
Attention to detail in documenting medical histories, treatment plans, and patient outcomes.
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, with familiarity in Paragon EMR being a plus.
Team-oriented approach, collaborating effectively with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and support teams.
Compassionate bedside manner and ability to maintain empathy in high-pressure situations.
