Job Responsibilities

As a Wound Care Physician, you will:
• Diagnose & treat acute & chronic wounds (pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic wounds, etc.)
• Perform wound debridement (sharp, enzymatic), I&D, electrocautery, sutures, point of care diagnostics, biopsies and cultures
• Develop customized treatment plans using evidence-based protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, dietitians, and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients, families and facility staff on wound care and prevention
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• MD/DO with a current NY Medical License
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• 3+ years of experience in emergency medicine
• Strong minor procedure skills (debridement, suturing, biopsy)
• Wound care certification (or willingness to obtain)
• DEA, BLS certification
• Reliable transportation (travel between facilities required)
• Excellent communication & teamwork skills

Working Hours

Monday - Friday, rounds start at 7 AM
Minimal call coverage for assigned facilities
