- Shift Times: 6a-6p, 6p-6a
Clinical Details:
- Hospital Beds: 66 (staffed)
- ICU Beds: 12
- Cath Lab: 1 (24/7)
- Trauma Designation: Level III
- ED Volume: 15,000
- Stroke Center Classification: Emergent Stroke Prep Center
- ED Beds: 10
- Fast Track Beds: 3
- Total ED Beds: 13
- EMR: Meditech
- Scribes: No
- Admitting %: 16%
- Pediatric %: 17%
- Bridge Orders: Yes
- Bedside Ultrasound: Yes
- Floor Codes: EM physicians attend floor codes
- EM Physician Procedures: Airway Management (Intubation), Conscious Sedation (Physicians use Propofol), Central Lines, Chest Tubes
- Imaging: CT 24/7, Ultrasound (Monday-Friday), MRI, Radiology (nighthawk service at night)
- Back Up: General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Hospital Medicine Program (on call at nights), Cardiology (They keep STEMIs), Pulmonology, Neurology – consults with higher level hospital, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Limited ENT, Limited Urology, General Surgery, Tele ICU Support (keep critically ill patients)
- No GI, No Nephrology
- Transfers: Level I Trauma: Freeman or Mercy in Joplin, MO; Critically Ill Pediatrics: Children’s Mercy (Kansas City); Burns: Kansas University or Cox Medical Center in Springfield
Requirements:
- BE/BC Emergency Medicine (ABEM, ABOEM), BC FP with experience
- Credentialing Timeline: 90 days
- Active KS license
