Job Opportunity: Physician - Emergency Medicine in Athens, OH

Join a dedicated team at a family-owned physician group practice focusing on the delivery of hospitalist and emergency department services. We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine or EM-experienced Family/Internal Medicine Physician to grow the Ohio Health O'Bleness program in Athens, Ohio. This position offers a supportive environment with on-site administrative assistance, allowing you to focus on patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide emergency medical services in a 22-bed emergency department.
  • Work within a physician-led organization.
  • Engage in 12-hour shifts, with a mix of day and night coverage.
  • Maintain a shift coverage of 24 hours/day by physicians and 36 hours/day by APPs.
  • Utilize EPIC for patient management and care documentation.
  • Participate in full-time employee or independent contractor roles.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Residency in the immediate local area may be required; relocation discussions will occur during the interview.
  • Experienced candidates preferred; not accepting new graduates or visa candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine -OR- Board Certified in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months/2,000 hours of experience in Emergency Medicine.
  • Active Ohio medical license (in hand or in process).
  • Comprehensive list of procedures you are experienced in performing.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination status.
  • Clean malpractice and licensing records.
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active).
  • DEA certification must be obtained prior to start.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Ohio medical license.
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialties.
  • Active DEA certification prior to start.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination status.
