    • Schedule: 5 days per week every other week (Friday to Tuesday); 3-4 days of call availability and 1-2 of clinic work
    • Setting: Rural (small town, approximate population of 2,000)
    • Duties: On-call covering the ER, inpatient floor and the clinic (numbers are low enough to accommodate this schedule). An average of 3 ER patients are seen per day. The inpatient floor average daily census is 2.7. Clinic patients are generally urgent care visits; not to exceed 8 per day. On-call Provider is not required to stay on-site (outside of clinic hours); they just need to be in the ER within 30 minutes if requested. Coverage would also include the Chief of Staff, Medical Director and collaborating Physician roles.
    • Required Procedures: Intubating, suturing, lesion removal, chest tubes. Generally, do not do central lines

    • Support Staff: Clinical team is available for support. We also have e-ER and e-Hospitalist services available at all times as support (as little or as much as the Provider would like). One provider (MD or APP) is available. Then there are typically 3 clinical staff working from 5pm to about 8am. The three clinical staff would entail at least one RN charge nurse and then it might be an LPN and/or CNA in addition to the one RN. No surgeon or CRNAs available for emergencies. We generally stabilize these patients and get them transferred to larger hospital for that higher level of acuity care
