Emergency Medicine Locums Opportunity in Washington, PA: $300 hourly

Job Description:

Emergency Medicine in Washington, PA where Inpatient Coverage is needed. Here are some of the details:

Start Date: July 1, 2024 - Ongoing


Coverage needed: *Need multiple candidates to cover several open shifts across both Hospitals. The need is 70 shifts across both locations, and providers will be scheduled at 1 location per day.

  • 6a-3p
  • 10a-8p
  • 4p-1a
  • 8p-6a

Location 2

  • 7a-7p
  • 7p-7a

Submission Requirements:


    • Board Certified or Board Eligible- REQUIRED
    • Active PA license or willing to obtain - REQUIRED
    • Certifications: ACLS, BLS - REQUIRED
  • 2 years experience-REQUIRED

Practice Description:

  • Multiple positions available
  • Adult %: 90%
  • PEDS %: 10%
  • Not a Trauma Center
  • APP/Mid-level coverage available during Mid-Day shift time
  • Location 1: 52k patients a year / Busy department
  • Location 2: 18k patients a year / 8 Treatment rooms
  • Patients per shift? Location 1: 18-20, Location 2: 16-24
  • Will the doctor be expected to supervise APP’s? Both locations- yes, however they work independently.
  • Is there a hospitalist on staff? Both locations - yes.
  • Who does admissions? The ED provider enters ED Bridge orders to get the patient admitted. Very minimal.
  • Who runs code? Location 1 the Intensivist does, at Location 2 the ED doc does.
  • The census on average at Location 2 is only 8 patients per day, therefore codes and RRTs are limited.
  • Surgical procedures required: Chest tubes, cricothyrotomy, etc - your typical emergency medicine surgical procedures.
  • EMR: Sunrise
