The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) seeks an emergency medicine physician to join and lead our team of twenty three physicians as the Service Center Medical Director (SCMD) in Anchorage, Alaska. As a 182-bed Level II Trauma Center, ANMC serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the state. With over 30 specialties, we provide a full complement of acute medical and primary care services. Our unique patient population, breathtaking geography and cohesive team make this a one-of-a-kind practice opportunity!

In this role you will evaluate and manage adult and pediatric emergency room patients in a 21 bed emergency department. Approximately 53,000 visits per year. While also leading a collegial team of ER Physicians and PA’s.

Work Schedule: ER Physicians work 144 shifts per contract year, combination of approximately 75% daytime shifts (0600-2200) 25% nocturnal shifts (2200-0600). 20% SCMD Admin time.

Qualifications: Completion of an ACGME/AOA approved residency in emergency medicine; Board certified in emergency medicine; collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity. 1 year medical director experience preferred.
