**Emergency Medicine Position in Des Moines, Iowa**
H1B Cap Exempt
**Details:**
- Full-time Emergency Medicine opportunity serving the central Iowa region
- July 2024 new EM residency will launch. ACGME accreditation already approved. 6 residents per year. 3 year program.
- Established team of experienced physicians and Advanced Practitioners
- Advanced scheduling to accommodate work/life balance
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
**Responsibilities:**
- 130 hours per month/13-16 shifts
- Shift duration varies by location: 12 hours, 9 hours & 8 hours
- Explicit interest in educating EM residents
- Expectation to be involved with non-clinical activities: education, scholarly activity and other non-clinical activities which advance departmental and organization goals.
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
**Qualifications:**
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physicians field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
