Emergency Medicine Physician Needed in Somerset, Kentucky!

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a full-time, BC/ BE Emergency Medicine Physician to join its team.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
• ER managed by MESA
• Physicians on duty 24/7
• A quick care physician is available Monday through Friday 5PM-3AM and on weekends 3PM-3AM.
• ER also utilizes PA’s to help triage patients and shorten wait times
• Average of 40,000 ER visits per year

ER OVERVIEW
• 23 Treatment rooms comprised of private rooms for special services (trauma, cardiac, pediatric, OB/GYN, psychiatric)
• 2 negative pressure isolation rooms
• Four beds are designated “general treatment” for “Quick care” usage
• 15 cardiac monitors and 4 defibrillators provide additional cardiac monitoring as needed
• Adult and pediatric crash carts
• External and internal pacemakers
• Carts are established to provide needed equipment to care for ophthalmic, neurologic, urologic carts, chest tube carts, orthopedic cart and ENT evaluation and treatment carts

ABOUT LCRH
• 295-bed facility
• Provides medical services to an 11-county service area in south central Kentucky
• One of only three hospitals in the United States that serves both as a rural regional referral center and a disproportionate-share facility
• Has completed nine major expansion projects since its opening in 1976. The most recent project included building a 116,000 square-foot, five-story medical tower and a three-story parking garage. Currently, the hospital is completing a new neuro/orthopedic unit.
• The hospital’s 24-hour emergency department is among the busiest in the state, treating some 36,000 patients each year, and the hospital also welcomes some 1,600 new babies each year.
