Job Description

An Elma, Washington based client is seeking an excellent ER Physician to provide emergent care in a hospital setting. In addition to this, coverage will be needed as a consultant in local clinics, supervising Urgent Care providers, and in rapid response medical units. An ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a self-starting leader. The position requires 13 shifts per month at 12 hour shifts from 8:00 to 20:000 and 20:000 to 8:00 daily. The ED is covered by one physician and one midlevel provider.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree
  • Current WA state medical license
  • Completed an accredited residency program
  • Current DEA certificate
  • Board certified or eligible in emergency medicine
  • Current ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides services to the District as a physician, in accordance with the Physician Employment Agreement. Takes ownership for care of assigned panel of patients Provides first contact, continuous, comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth and adults according to current standards of care and the patient centered medical home model.
  • Provide timely completeness and content of charts. Perform assessment/examinations on initial encounter with unscheduled, emergency and new patients. Coordinate patient treatment plan and consult specialists as appropriate. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests necessary to complete the evaluation and treatment plan. Work collaboratively and supportively with members of the medical staff to provide emergency services to all patients who present to the emergency department
  • Assists in the development of clinical protocols; assists with the plan of action to facilitate problem resolution; charts actions appropriately
  • Meets or exceeds quality care standards, achieves clinical excellence, contributes to quality improvement, and strives for high patient satisfaction
  • Independently plans work and develops procedures to accomplish goals. Participates actively in the quality improvement system, complies with all appropriate Washington State Department of Health standards, National Patient Safety goals, and other quality improvement projects
  • Maintains appropriate, accurate and timely records using a computerized record keeping and coding system
  • Maintains professional skills through research and training/continuing education opportunities. Participates in interdisciplinary meetings; stays abreast of trends and best practices; develops and implements new and revised methods, practices, policies, techniques and procedures. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and federal, state and local laws
