Job Duties: The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is looking for a dedicated Medical Professional to assume the responsibilities of Emergency Medical/Urgent Care Physician
Performs routine and emergency medical care of inmates/patients for Chrome Care Clinic at the facility. For example: examines, diagnoses, and treats patients, monitors progress, inoculates or vaccinates against, or prescribes medications and prescribes or administers treatment for acute & chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery.
Evaluates inmates for referral consultations: Reviews recommendations of the specialty consultants, approving or disapproving their recommendations. Consults with medical specialists providing treatment within and outside of institution. Reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray and other diagnostic testing; Completes medical reclassification and other reviews as indicated. Writes medical evaluations & reports admission, discharge & death summaries, interprets & analyzes laboratory reports & findings & writes summary. Documents all assessments, findings, & diagnostic impressions according to Scope of Practice, ODRC Policies, Processes, Protocols and related ACA Standards. Reviews and ensures appropriateness of emergency transfers to outside hospitals.
Minimum Qualifications; Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio
Knowledge of skilled physician procedures, HIPPA regulations; state and federal regulations; natural sciences communicable diseases.
