Emergency Department

  • ED Volume: 34,000
  • 25 main ED beds; four fast track
  • Meditech Documentation
  • 16% Admission rate
  • 30 minute ED pledge / 90 min transfers
  • No Cath Lab – transfer STEMIs to Washington Hospital Center
  • 90 minutes average with transfer
  • Receive EKGs from the field from EMS
  • Designated Primary Stroke Center
  • Imaging Resources:
  • Ultrasound
  • PACS radiology film reading system in the ED
  • Two CT machines are available 24/7 and located adjacent to the ED

  • In-house 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. weekends; on-call when not in-house
  • MRI in-house until 6:30 p.m.; on-call after
