We are seeking skilled Dermatopathologists to join a well-established, highly resourced practice in the Tampa Bay, FL area. Role Overview
This is an on-site position responsible for the accurate interpretation of dermatopathology specimens, participation in frozen section procedures, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support high-quality patient outcomes. The full-time role includes both internal lab responsibilities and structured travel to clinical locations for frozen section pathology.
Key Responsibilities
Dermatopathology (Internal Lab)

Perform microscopic examination of biopsies, surgical specimens, and frozen tissue samples.

Diagnose a broad range of dermatologic conditions including cancers, inflammatory diseases, and infections.

Utilize molecular diagnostics, immunohistochemistry, and digital pathology tools.

Prepare detailed pathology reports with clear diagnostic impressions.

Participate in quality assurance programs and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Stay current with advances in pathology through CME, research, and professional engagement.
Frozen Section Pathology (Travel Component) - Full-Time Role Only

Travel 2 days per week to designated clinical sites (St. Petersburg or Brooksville, FL).

Perform and interpret frozen section pathology on-site in a mobile lab.

Conduct immediate evaluations; no additional duties required while on-site.

Travel limited to one site per day (no multiple-site travel in a single day).
Qualifications

Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution

Board Certified in Dermatopathology (required)

Fellowship training in Dermatopathology (mandatory)

Eligible for or holding a valid Florida medical license

Proficiency with modern pathology techniques, including molecular diagnostics

Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret high-volume caseloads

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience

Open to new graduates and 2026 fellowship completers

Experience with high-volume dermatopathology is a plus
-
Must be comfortable reading 100-150 cases per day (dermpath reads)
