Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, typically 7:30am to 4:30pm, with a one-hour lunch
No Weekends, No Holidays and No Call
Practice Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Examines, diagnoses and treats diseases of the skin, hair and nails.
• Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records.
• Examines patients, performs biopsies and excisions, and other diagnostic techniques of dermatology, and determines requirements for clinical laboratory tests.
• Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings.
• Prescribes treatment, including oral and injectable systemic medications.
• Advises on types and quantity of dermatological supplies and equipment.
• Instructs interns and residents in methods and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of dermatological diseases.
• Provides the patient with complete and appropriate instructions regarding medication, limitations, and follow-up plans.
• Responsible for care of Department of Defense (DoD)/government equipment and material while performing procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: MD or DO Degree
* Residency/Fellowship: Successful completion of a Residency or Fellowship in Dermatology.
* Experience: 1) At least 24 months experience within the last 36 months; 2) May include residency/fellowship training.
* Additional Requirements, Training and Knowledge: 1) Must be competent in standard excisions and electrodessication/ curettage, as well the use of liquid nitrogen and topical medications for field treatment of actinic keratosis. 2) Must be competent in the use of phototherapy. 3) Must be willing to see occasional emergency room and inpatient dermatology consultation.
* Licensure: Active, unrestricted Physician License from any US state.
* Clinical Board Certification: Board Certified by ABD or AOBD.
* Life Support Certification: Possess a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
