Long-Term Locum Opportunity | Local Candidates Only
We are seeking a Dermatologist for an ongoing locum assignment in a private outpatient practice in Lighthouse Point, Florida.
Position Highlights
- Start Date: September 28, 2026, or sooner if credentialed
- Assignment: Ongoing; open to 3- or 6-month assignments with option to extend
- Schedule: Mondays & Tuesdays, with potential for occasional Thursdays
- Hours: 6:30 AM โ 2:00 PM
- Coverage: 2 days per week ongoing, with potential to increase to 3 days/week
- Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patients/day
- Setting: Outpatient private practice
- EMR: Paper charts
- Location: Lighthouse Point, FL
- Local candidates only: Provider must reside in Florida and be able to commute to the practice
Practice & Patient Population
This is a general dermatology opportunity serving pediatric through geriatric patients, with the majority being middle-aged to elderly.
The practice currently has one exam room and is relocating approximately 1โ2 miles to a new location with two exam rooms.
Procedures
The physician will provide general dermatologic care, including:
- Cryosurgery
- Biopsies
- Excisions
- ED&C
- General dermatology procedures
Cryosurgery experience is highly desirable, as it represents approximately 80% of the procedures performed. Mohs surgery is not required; Mohs cases are referred out.
Support
The practice owner and a Medical Assistant will provide support. The MA will serve as a scribe and assist with documentation and other clinical tasks, although the physician will handle most patient-care responsibilities independently.
Requirements
- Florida medical license required
- BLS required
- Board Certification preferred but not required
- Open to new graduates
- DEA not required
- Must be eligible for Medicare enrollment
- No background issues that would prevent Medicare enrollment
- Must be enrolled/eligible with applicable payers
Credentialing
Credentialing is expected to take approximately 30โ45 days, with the practice utilizing the Q6 modifier to help expedite the process.
