About Lynchburg:
Lynchburg's downtown revival along Main Street has brought Rivermont Pizza, the Bluff Walk trail overlooking the James River, and the Academy Center of the Arts into a walkable historic core. Median home prices sit around $250K (cost of living 12% below the national average), the Brookville and Jefferson Forest school districts carry strong state ratings, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 20 minutes west with access to the Peaks of Otter, Apple Orchard Falls, and McAfee Knob (Virginia's most photographed hike). The James River runs right through town for kayaking and tubing, Poplar Forest (Thomas Jefferson's personal retreat) is 10 minutes south, and the Virginia craft beer scene is thriving with local breweries like Apocalypse Ale Works.
