Critical Care fellowship trained Intensivist sought to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team on a 24 bed CICU in the prestigious Houston Medical Center caring for patients with advanced heart failure (including LVAD, and Transplant). Candidates must be adept in all critical care procedures including endotracheal intubation, management of noninvasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, the placement and management of Swan Ganz catheters, central venous and arterial lines, temporary dialysis catheters, tube thoracostomies, and performing thoracenteses, paracenteses, and lumbar punctures. An interest in interacting with residents and fellows that rotate through the unit, as well as research will be important. Potential to apply for a faculty position will be possible. Shifts are 12 hours long and are scheduled 4-6 weeks in advance with a mix of day and night.
