Position Overview
Inhospital Physicians is hiring two full-time Critical Care physicians to join the ICU team at Rapides Regional Medical Center, a 346-bed regional referral hospital and Level II trauma center in Central Louisiana. Start dates in 2027 — ideal for current fellows finishing training and practicing intensivists planning their next move.
Position Highlights
- Hospital: Rapides Regional Medical Center (HCA Healthcare)
- ICU: 34-bed closed medical/surgical ICU
- Schedule: 7 on / 7 off, 12-hour shifts – 26 weeks off per year
- Coverage model: Days – intensivists with APP support (APPs handle admissions while physicians round and perform procedures); Nights – 1 intensivist with 2 APPs
- Manageable volume – approximately 6 ICU admissions per day
- Procedures: central/arterial lines, intubations, ventilator management
- Intensivists support codes and rapid response
- EMR: Meditech
- Full specialty backup: pulmonology, cardiology (Rapides Heart Center), surgery, oncology, stroke

Requirements
- MD/DO, board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine (fellows completing training in 2027 encouraged to apply)
- Louisiana license or ability to obtain (Louisiana is an IMLC state)
- Proficient in ICU procedures and comfortable leading an APP team
