Locums Critical Care Medicine – Henderson, Nevada
Urgency & Availability
- Start Date: January 1, 2026
- Coverage Need:
- 93 open shifts in Q1 2026
- Seeking one provider for ~9 months and one provider for ~4 months
- Schedule Model:
- 7 days on / 7 days off
- Approximately 14 shifts per month
- Must cover both day and night shifts throughout assignment
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in one of the following:
- Critical Care
- Pulmonary/Critical Care
- Surgical Critical Care
- Anesthesia Critical Care
- Emergency Medicine/Critical Care
- Residency/Fellowship: Required
- State License:
- Active Nevada license required, or
- Enrollment in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, or
- Already in process for NV license
- Certifications & Credentials:
- ACLS – Required
- BLS – Required
- DEA – Required
- NRP – Required
- Nevada Board of Pharmacy license – Required
- Setting: Hospital-based, closed ICU
- EMR: Cerner
- Support Staff: Fully staffed ICU teams
- 1 ICU, 25-bed capacity
- Typical census: 18–24
- Split coverage with APP
- Approximately 3–6 admits per day
- 1 ICU, 25-bed capacity
- Typical census: 10–12
- IM resident support
- Approximately 2–5 admits per day
- Coverage of entire Critical Care service
- Two ICUs, 25 beds each
- New admits: ~4–8 overnight
- Support: 1–2 APPs
- 1 ICU, 25-bed capacity
- Typical census: 10–12
- New admits: ~1–3 overnight
- No APP or resident support
- Comprehensive ICU patient management
- Face-to-face sign-out (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Multidisciplinary rounding
- New consults and admissions (ED, floor upgrades, direct ICU transfers)
- Direct communication with consultants and families
- ICU discharges and downgrades
- Teaching residents as needed
- Central venous lines
- Arterial lines
- Intubations
- Chest tube placement
- Thoracentesis
- Paracentesis
- Lumbar puncture
- Tracheostomy placement
- ECMO management
- Long-term locums opportunity with predictable 7 on / 7 off scheduling
- Must be comfortable with independent night coverage
