Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute/Section of Cardiology seeks a qualified general Cardiologist with specialization in advanced imaging to join its faculty at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Medicine level. This position will be responsible for patient care at up to three (3) hospitals and multiple clinic sites in the Greater New Orleans Area. Additional responsibilities include the education of Cardiology fellows as well as the expansion of research activities.

The Section hosts an ACGME accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program with 24 fellows, an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program with two (2) fellows, and a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship program with one (1) fellow. The Section of Cardiology is also actively involved in bench, translational and clinical trials research and candidates would be expected to foster a productive research environment. There are currently 20 clinical faculty in the Section of Cardiology who offer a full range of services including a CHF clinic, a Chest Pain Center, and a full‐spectrum of non‐invasive services.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • General cardiology and cardiac imaging coverage at Tulane Medical Center, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System Medical Center and University Medical Center New Orleans, including cardiology and imaging consults, critical care services, cardiac MR, cardiac CT, echocardiograms and nuclear cardiology tests.

  • Outpatient clinic responsibilities at these sites and other outreach clinics as assigned.

  • Weekend and after hours hospital service in rotation with other faculty.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Teaching responsibilities will include formal and informal teaching activities for medicine residents, cardiology fellows, and medical students as well as attending, facilitating, and presenting at cardiology conferences.

Research Data:

  • Developing and participating in clinical and translational research.

  • Publication of findings in peer‐review journals is expected and at least one (1) publication per year.

As a Tulane University‐employed faculty member, you will receive compensation commensurate with the rank of your academic appointment which will be based on your qualifications and experience. You will also receive a fully comprehensive benefits package, and relocation allowance.
