Locum tenens general cardiology coverage at a Level II trauma hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, in short blocks from early November through the holiday stretch of December 24 to January 4, with more coverage to follow. Each block pairs inpatient rounding with night call and a weekend of 24-hour call, plus some clinic days. You round with a team of three APPs on a shared caseload of about 7 to 22 inpatients a day, with intensivists, RNs, and cardiac imaging technicians available. A 24-hour call day pays $2,002.00 and a night pays $450.45, with call-back at $357.86 an hour. Clinical and rounding hours pay $275.28 an hour, and holidays pay $357.86. Travel, lodging, rental car, and mileage are covered, and temporary privileges are available to get a clean file started on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Take night call and weekend 24-hour call
- See clinic patients on assigned days, about 15 a day
- Interpret echocardiograms, EKGs, stress tests, and Holter and event monitors
- Manage chest pain and ACS, heart failure, arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, valve disease, hypertension, and dyslipidemia
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience
- Active Wisconsin license, or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
- Active DEA, BLS, and ACLS
- Case logs for credentialing
- Willing to cover both inpatient and outpatient work
