A respected, community-focused multi-specialty medical group in Southern Vermont is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiologist for an ongoing locum tenens assignment beginning October 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a primarily outpatient, noninvasive cardiology role with no call responsibilities, strong referral support, and a collaborative clinical environment dedicated to high-quality patient care and continuity of care.
Position Highlights

- Flexible schedule: 3-5 days per week
- Start date: October 2026
- Ongoing coverage needed due to physician retirement
- Average patient volume: 16 patients per day
- Collaborate with 2 experienced APRNs
- Established referral network
- Well-supported practice infrastructure
- Opportunity to obtain Vermont licensure if not currently licensed
Responsibilities
- Outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care
- Interpretation and management of diagnostic cardiology studies
- Echocardiography interpretation
- Electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation
- Cardiovascular disease management and treatment planning
- Collaboration with APRNs and referring providers
- Documentation within Cerner EMR
Schedule
- Coverage Start: October 2026
- Schedule: 3-5 days per week
- Call: None
- Weekend Coverage: None
Patient Population
- Adult patients
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
- If Board Eligible, graduation date must be provided
- Current Vermont medical license or willingness to obtain
- DEA certification (required prior to start)
- CPR certification (required prior to start)
- CPR for Healthcare Providers
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
Required at Presentation
- Current NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days) – required, no exceptions
