## Cardiology Fellowship Program Director opening | Gainesville, FL North Central Florida — UCF College of Medicine Affiliation ## Position Details * Full-time, permanent position * Employment Type: Direct employment with private practice * Setting: Inpatient and outpatient — clinical and academic leadership role * Faculty appointment with UCF College of Medicine * Partnership track available ## Practice Overview Seeking a BC General Cardiologist to provide visionary leadership as Program Director for a new ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program in collaboration with UCF College of Medicine: * Well-established cardiovascular practice serving North Central Florida for nearly 40 years * Dedicated team of 30 cardiologists, vascular specialists, PAs, and NPs * Main campus in Gainesville with satellite location in Lake City * Provide general cardiology in both inpatient and outpatient settings * Participate in multidisciplinary heart failure and cardiogenic shock programs * Interpret echocardiograms and perform cardiac procedures appropriate to subspecialty training * Share in attending responsibilities for general cardiology inpatient services * Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives ## Educational Leadership Responsibilities * Serve as Program Director for the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program in accordance with ACGME requirements * Oversee curriculum development, trainee recruitment, evaluation, and progression * Mentor fellows and residents in clinical and scholarly activities * Foster a culture of academic excellence, professionalism, and innovation * Collaborate with UCF COM Graduate Medical Education leadership for program compliance and continuous improvement ## Research & Academic Activities * Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national meetings * Support grant development and scholarly collaboration within the Division and Department ## Compensation & Benefits * Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications * Faculty appointment with UCF College of Medicine * Partnership track * Collaborative opportunities with UCF COM faculty * Comprehensive support system for clinical and academic success * Full benefits package — details provided upon inquiry ## Required Qualifications * MD or DO — Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease * Minimum 3 years of documented educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency or cardiovascular disease fellowship — required * Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain * Proven ability to balance administrative leadership with teaching and clinical care * Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills * Demonstrated scholarly activity — peer-reviewed research, publications, national presentations, or committee involvement highly encouraged ## About the Community – Gainesville, Florida * Recognized as one of Florida's most livable cities — blending small-town charm with innovative urban amenities * Renowned for preservation of historic buildings, vibrant arts scene, and cultural diversity * Natural beauty including springs, lakes, outdoor parks, and museums * Convenient proximity to both Florida coasts — easy access to sandy beaches and Florida's renowned attractions * Home to the University of Florida — a dynamic college town atmosphere with Big Ten sports * Warm, sunny climate year-round with a welcoming, diverse community
