Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician

We are seeking a Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician to provide inpatient and EMTALA call coverage in Paducah, KY. This role involves managing acute cardiac cases, performing interventional procedures, and supporting general cardiology needs within a collaborative team of cardiologists.

Schedule & Call

• Shift Type: 24-hour on-call coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Coverage Needs: 3–7 days per month
• Weekend Requirements: Yes
• On-Call Requirements: Yes

Practice Setting

• Setting: Inpatient / EMTALA call coverage
• Group Size: 2 interventional cardiologists
• Additional cardiology support available during coverage
• No outpatient/clinic responsibilities
• EMR: Epic Cupid
• Patient Population: Adult

Clinical Responsibilities

• Respond to all cardiology calls for the hospital
• Perform interventional cardiology procedures including:
  • Balloon angioplasty
  • Coronary angioplasty
  • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
  • Heart catheterizations
  • Coronary angiograms
• Provide general cardiology consults as needed
• Interpret diagnostic studies including:
  • EKGs
  • Echocardiograms
  • Stress tests (including nuclear stress)
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure timely and effective patient care

Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiology (Interventional required)
• Active Kentucky medical license and DEA
  • Will consider IMLC candidates if able to meet coverage needs (3–7 days/month)
• ACLS certification
• COVID-19 vaccination required
