Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician

We are seeking a Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician to provide inpatient call coverage in Mechanicsville, VA. This role includes STEMI call coverage aligned with unassigned and noninvasive cardiology coverage, supporting a busy cardiovascular service line in a well-equipped hospital setting.

Schedule & Call Details

• Shift Types:
  • Day: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Night: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirements: Yes
• Coverage Dates: May 1 – June 30, 2026
• Call Type: Inpatient call with STEMI coverage
• Call Ratio: Approximately 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD)

Practice Setting

• Hospital Size: 250 beds
• ICU Beds: 30
• Inpatient cardiology service with collaborative team support
• High-acuity cardiovascular care environment

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide interventional cardiology coverage, including STEMI response
• Perform procedures such as:
  • Balloon angioplasty
  • Coronary angioplasty
  • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
  • Heart catheterization
  • Coronary angiograms
  • Carotid artery stenting
  • Atherectomy
  • Embolic protection procedures
• Manage vascular disease medically and procedurally
• Collaborate with cardiology and hospital teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Requirements & Certifications

• Board Certified in Cardiology (Interventional required)
• Active Virginia medical license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
