Job Title: Cardiologist
Job Type: Part-Time (14 hours per week) | Exempt
Setting: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) - Multiple Locations

Position Overview

A mission-driven community health organization is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Cardiologist to provide high-quality cardiovascular care to adult patients in an outpatient, community-based setting. This role focuses on improving access to specialty cardiac care while working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care model to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions

  • Interpret cardiovascular diagnostic tests as appropriate

  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans

  • Collaborate closely with primary care providers, nursing staff, and care coordination teams

  • Ensure timely referrals, continuity of care, and accurate clinical documentation

  • Participate in quality improvement and patient care initiatives

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, HRSA, and managed care guidelines

  • Deliver patient-centered and culturally responsive care to diverse populations

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology

  • Active and unrestricted New York State medical license and DEA (or ability to obtain)

  • Hospital admitting privileges or ability to obtain

  • Strong commitment to community-based and patient-centered care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an FQHC, community health center, or safety-net setting

  • Experience serving diverse and underserved populations

  • Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus
