Cardiologist Job Details

• Location: Richmond, VA 23226 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel/Contract Cardiologist)
• Practice Setting: Inpatient, Outpatient, Clinic, and Call Coverage
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13-week contract
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, varied day shifts
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Schedule: 1:6 night and weekend rotating call
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $7,100 - $8,410
• Patient Demographic: Adult and Geriatric
• EMR: EPIC

Cardiologist Qualifications

• Board-Certified Physician in Non-Invasive Cardiology
• Active Virginia medical license (Virginia cardiology jobs)
• DEA license
• ACLS certification
• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certification (Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD experience required)
• AHF Fellowship with LVAD experience
• Minimum 1 year of recent non-invasive cardiology experience
• Must be local to Richmond, VA (only mileage reimbursement provided)
• Eligible for temporary credentialing (clean background required)

Cardiology Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality non-invasive cardiology care to adult and geriatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Perform and interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Supervise and collaborate with a team of 4 advanced practice clinicians (APCs)
• Manage an average of 10 clinic patients and 12–15 inpatient admissions daily
• Participate in a 1:6 call rotation, including nights and weekends
• Document patient encounters using EPIC EMR
• Work closely with other cardiologists and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care
