Job description Cardiology opening in Ohio Full time Employed Cardiac Intensivist Opportunity – Northeast Ohio An established and growing Heart & Vascular program in Northeast Ohio is seeking to expand its cardiac critical care services with the addition of a Cardiac Intensivist. This program offers the full spectrum of cardiovascular care, including electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart, peripheral vascular disease, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiothoracic surgery. The Heart & Vascular facility features: * 56 Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU) rooms * 30 cardiovascular surgical beds * Two electrophysiology laboratories * Four cardiac catheterization laboratories * Four cardiovascular operating rooms * One hybrid operating room The program is on track to exceed 600 cardiac surgical cases annually and continues to experience rapid growth in advanced heart failure, structural heart, and endovascular services. This nationally recognized program is a regional leader in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care, known for excellence in quality outcomes across multiple subspecialties, including carotid surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, and extremity bypass procedures. Continued growth in quality and volume remains a top priority, with a strong cardiac intensivist team playing a critical role in achieving that vision. Position Overview The incoming physician will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of cardiac intensivists, cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, advanced practice providers, fellows, and dedicated bedside staff. This role supports both the cardiovascular surgical ICU (CVSICU) and cardiac medical ICU (CCU), emphasizing team-based care and excellent patient outcomes. Responsibilities include: * Management of patients following cardiovascular surgery * Care of complex cardiac medical ICU patients * Collaboration with NPs, fellows, attending physicians, and surgeons * Performance of standard intensivist procedures, including: * Central and arterial line placement * Swan-Ganz catheter insertion * Chest tube placement Experience & Requirements * Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine * Experience managing critically complex cardiac and cardiovascular patients, either through fellowship training or as an attending physician * Physicians wishing to divide clinical time between Critical Care and a primary specialty (e.g., Anesthesiology) are encouraged to apply Opportunity Highlights * Co-employed cardiology group consisting of 22 cardiologists covering multiple offices and hospitals across the region * Highly competitive compensation package * Comprehensive health benefits * Excellent sign-on bonus * Paid malpractice coverage * Relocation assistance * CME allowance * Generous paid time off * Leadership opportunity available for qualified and motivated candidates This is an outstanding opportunity for a Cardiac Intensivist seeking a high-acuity, well-resourced program, strong multidisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the growth and leadership of a premier cardiovascular service line.
