Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgeon to join an established, high-volume program within Southern Arizona’s busiest CT surgery and structural heart service. The program features close partnerships with interventional cardiology, weekly journal clubs, and difficult-case conferences in the cath lab. The system is stable and efficient, supported by on-site NPs for clinic coverage, rounding, and skilled operating room assistance.

Job Responsibilities
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences (journal clubs; cath lab difficult-case reviews).
• Collaborate closely with interventional cardiology, anesthesia, critical care, and the structural heart team.
• Engage in perioperative care optimization, quality improvement initiatives, and protocol development.
• (Optional) Provide thoracic surgery support—thoracic experience appreciated but not required.
Qualifications
• Fellowship-trained in adult cardiac surgery.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience preferred; highly skilled recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency across adult cardiothoracic surgery; experience/interest in:
o Multi arterial CABG
o Minimally invasive coronary surgery
o Valve procedures
o Robotic assisted surgery (preferred but not required)
• Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, high quality, patient-centered care.
• Arizona medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
• No history of license revocation, restriction, or suspension in any jurisdiction.
Working Hours
• Rotating shifts as required by surgical scheduling and perioperative coverage
Skills
• Team-based communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary services.
• Clinical judgment and risk stratification for complex cardiac patients.
• Familiarity with minimally invasive and robotic techniques (preferred).
• Commitment to quality, safety, and outcomes; comfortable in an academically informed, community setting.
