🏥 Facility Setting: Hospital-Based – Inpatient, OR, ICU, ER/Floor Rounding
A premier hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum assignment covering a 3–6 month period with potential extension. This is a high-acuity, hospital-based role with opportunities to manage complex cardiac cases and participate in multidisciplinary care.
Schedule & Coverage:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Nights and weekends rotation (approx. 7–8 calls/month)

Trauma Level: Level I
-
3 operating rooms with an annual ER volume of ~85,000
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform surgeries including CABG, Off-Pump CABG, Heart Valve Repair/Replacement, Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Redo Coronary Revascularization, Tube Thoracostomy, Pericardial Window, CoreValve® System, and Mitral Valve Repair

Manage ICU, ER, and inpatient rounds

Collaborate with a full complement of support staff for adult and geriatric patients

Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation
Requirements:
-
Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
-
Active Connecticut license
-
BLS and ACLS certification
