Job Title: Locum to Perm Anesthesiologist – Cardiac Specialization
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist to provide locum coverage with potential for permanent employment at a Level II Trauma Center. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in a hospital-based environment, offering comprehensive anesthetic care for a diverse range of surgical procedures. This position offers the opportunity to transition from temporary to permanent employment based on mutual interest and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide anesthesia services for adult general surgical cases, including complex procedures such as open heart, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
- Administer various anesthetic techniques including IV regional, plexus, spinal, and regional anesthesia.
- Manage intraoperative ventilation and hemodynamic parameters, including insertion and management of TEE probes, PA catheters, arterial lines, and central lines.
- Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in adherence to hospital policies.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and hospital staff to ensure patient safety and optimal care outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, documentation, and compliance standards, utilizing the Cerner EMR system.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Anesthesiology.
- Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (candidate must hold a current NJ license; no license eligibility is provided).
- Current ACLS (American Heart Association) and BLS certifications.
- Prior experience with complex vascular, cardiac, thoracic, and general surgeries preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage advanced airway and complex anesthesia cases.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekdays, nights, and weekends, based on surgical scheduling needs.
