Job Description
The Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine will provide visionary leadership to System, advancing the department to a Category of One in clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and research and education impact. Key responsibilities include:
* Develop and implement the Cardiovascular Medicine department strategic plan, ensuring alignment with institutional goals
* Oversee operational, clinical, and financial performance across sites and regions
* Standardize best practices and optimize the quality and safety of patient care
* Provide inspirational leadership for physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff, including recruitment, mentoring, coaching, and succession planning
* Foster research and education initiatives within the department
* Promote staff well-being, engagement, and a culture of recognition and inclusion
* Establish and maintain a regular onsite presence to support team engagement and model values
Qualifications
* MD or DO with board certification in Cardiovascular Medicine
* Successful leadership experience in academic medicine or community healthcare
* Associate professor or professor level preferred, with ongoing academic activity
* Proven track record in team building, strategic planning, and enhancing cardiovascular services
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
* Experience or interest in implementing AI, digital health solutions, and research trials in cardiovascular medicine is strongly preferred
