Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible
General Cardiologist
to join a collaborative outpatient cardiology team.
This full-time, permanent opportunity offers a collegial environment emphasizing patient-centered care, preventive cardiology, and multidisciplinary teamwork. Essential Position Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and long-term management of patients with cardiovascular conditions in an outpatient setting.
Counsel patients on lifestyle modification, risk factor reduction, and preventive cardiology strategies.
Interpret non-invasive diagnostic studies including ECGs, Holter/Event monitors, echocardiograms, and stress testing.
Coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and follow-up care.
Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and other team members to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
Provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and support to nurse practitioners and physician assistants within the cardiology department.
Facilitate care coordination, referrals, and smooth transitions of care across the continuum.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
Document all encounters, treatment plans, and communications in the electronic health record (EHR).
Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission and performance goals.
Maintain board certification and engage in ongoing professional education to remain current with advancements in cardiology.
Qualifications
Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure & Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiology; eligible for state medical licensure.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice preferred; new graduates and fellows are welcome to apply.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR); Epic experience preferred.
Comfort overseeing and supporting advanced practice providers (PAs/ARNPs).
