JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Cardiologist
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Clovis, NM
• Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: 10/1/2025 – 13 weeks (with potential extension)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8a – 5p
COVERAGE DATES
• Two weeks per month (schedule flexible; preference for one provider to cover both weeks)
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adult cardiology patients
• Patient Volume/Census: Approx. 20 patients per day
• Admissions: No inpatient responsibilities
• Case Mix: Outpatient cardiology, non-invasive testing
FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Lab, treadmill, echo, EKG
• Support Staff Available: Standard outpatient clinic support staff
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental clinic coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: 60–90 days
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Mileage reimbursed at IRS national rate (personal vehicle); other incidentals not covered
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Echocardiography
• Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
• Nuclear cardiology
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active NM medical license (required)
• Board: BC/BE in Cardiology
• DEA: Active DEA required
• Certifications: Not specified, BLS/ACLS typically expected
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in cardiology practice
• Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide outpatient cardiology clinic coverage
• Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions
• Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiology studies (echo, TEE, nuclear)
• Utilize clinic resources including lab, treadmill, echo, and EKG
• Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure continuity of care
• Document patient encounters and test results accurately in Epic EMR
