Job description
The Cardiovascular Institute at Flagstaff Medical Center is seeking a General Cardiologist for a 6-month locum assignment with the possibility of extension. This is a flexible, full-time or 3-weeks-per-month schedule, working with an established team of cardiologists providing care to an adult and senior patient population. Enjoy a balanced schedule with weekday clinic hours and optional call coverage.
Job Responsibilities
See 16–20 adult patients per day, primarily age 60+
Collaborate with 2 other cardiologists on patient care and consults
Participate in the full scope of general cardiology evaluations and management
Document in Cerner EMR
Build strong relationships with patients, staff, and peers
Weekend call coverage is TBD and not currently required
Qualifications
Active Arizona medical license OR eligible for IMLC expedited licensure
ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in cardiology
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Working Hours
Flexible scheduling options:
Full-time coverage preferred
Open to providers who can offer 3 weeks per month
Weekend and night call TBD (no current weekend call requirement)
Contract length: 6 months
Start date: ASAP
Credentialing timeframe: ~30 days
Skills
Proficient in working with older adult populations (60+)
Comfortable in a hospital-based practice setting
Proficient with Cerner EMR
Strong relational and teamwork skills to enhance patient care and staff collaboration
