A well-established cardiothoracic surgery practice in Texarkana, TX is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join its collaborative heart and thoracic team. The group performs 200–300 cardiac cases and 150 thoracic cases (including advanced pulmonary procedures) annually, with a strong emphasis on robotic surgery and minimally invasive techniques.

Job Responsibilities

Perform a full range of cardiac surgeries (CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR)
Manage thoracic procedures, including lung cancer resections and complex pulmonary operations
Lead and grow the Lung Nodule Program and support ongoing research initiatives
Participate in a successful TAVR program (established for 2+ years)
Collaborate closely with cardiologists, interventional teams, anesthesiologists, and support staff
Mentor and provide leadership within the surgical department—opportunities for formal leadership roles
Maintain high standards of patient care, quality metrics, and clinical documentation

Qualifications

Board-Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (or equivalent)
Fellowship-trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Minimum of 3–5 years of independent practice experience (new graduates not eligible)
Eligibility for Texas medical licensure
Proven expertise in robotic-assisted surgery and TAVR
Demonstrated involvement in clinical research or academic projects

Working Hours

Full-time surgical practice with flexible block scheduling
On-call rotation with competitive call stipends
Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and heart team meetings
Administrative and research time negotiable based on practice needs
