The LSU Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology is seeking a Cardiologist with fellowship training in advanced cardiovascular imaging for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track).
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cardiologist to join our growing healthcare team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to provide advanced cardiac imaging services while contributing to the academic mission of the department through teaching and research. The ideal candidate will have experience in multimodality imaging, including echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and nuclear cardiology, and a passion for advancing the field of cardiovascular imaging. Job Responsibilities
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, radiologists, and cardiac surgeons to provide comprehensive imaging-based diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
• Teach and mentor cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students through clinical instruction, case-based learning, and lectures.
• Participate in clinical research, with opportunities to lead or collaborate on studies focused on advancements in cardiac imaging and cardiovascular care.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives, including quality improvement programs, imaging protocol development, and clinical innovation in cardiac imaging.
• Engage n outreach and collaborative activities with referring physicians to promote the use of advanced cardiac imaging in patient care.
• Participate in the cardiology division’s call schedule, providing imaging consultation and interpretation.
Qualifications
• Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Licensed to practice Medicine in Louisiana before hire date.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiology fellowship program.
• Proficiency in n multiple imaging modalities, including echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and nuclear cardiology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an academic and team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to providing patient-centered care, academic medicine, including clinical excellence, teaching, and research.
