Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University is accepting applications for full-time, employed faculty positions in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The positions combine outpatient and inpatient practice with cardiac imaging as detailed below. Outpatient practice will be at the state-of-the-art Honickman Center, a multi-specialty outpatient care facility in downtown Philadelphia, PA, with the inpatient components at nearby Jefferson Methodist Hospital or Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills to practice outpatient and inpatient general and consultative cardiology. A strong background in echocardiography, with at least COCATS level 2 training and NBE board eligibility or certification, is required.
Responsibilities include patient care on the cardiac consultative and inpatient services, developing an outpatient general and consultative cardiology office practice, on-call coverage, and participation in the echocardiography laboratory. The candidate will take an active part in teaching fellows of cardiology, medical house staff and medical students. Opportunities for research commensurate with experience and interest may be accommodated.
The candidate joins a group of over 50 full-time academic cardiologists in an expanding multidisciplinary practice in a supportive environment, with strong clinical, research and teaching programs, including robust structural and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure and transplant programs, and specialized programs in cardio-oncology, cardio-obstetrics, and specialized amyloidosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinics.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an MD/DO degree, be board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases and should possess a license or be eligible to practice medicine in Pennsylvania by the time the appointment starts.
