Nurses Etc Staffing is looking for a full-time Cardiologist MD/DO to join our team at Joint Base Andrews AFB, MD. This is a small single provider clinic co-located with the Pulmonary clinic.

This position represents:

Position Qualifications/Requirements:
Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. .
Certification: Advances Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support
Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship and residency program (corresponding to the specialty required in the TO) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training).
Experience: Must be capable of performing the full range of cardiology services.
Board Certification: Current board certification in Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.


Specific Duties:
  • Routine ambulatory outpatient Cardiology Clinic.
  • Follow and provide medical care for the internal medicine problems of cardiology patients.
  • Performance and interpretation of noninvasive cardiology evaluation including EKGs, holter monitors, treadmills, and echocardiographs.
  • Initial evaluation, consultation, and follow-up care.
  • In extraordinary circumstances, in which the life of a patient may be at risk, assist the ECC physicians with expert cardiology opinion urgently in the MTF ECC.
  • Provide and document medical advice to patients by telephone as appropriate
  • Responds to walk-ins of acutely ill cardiology patients. Examines, treats, and provides plan of care and recommendations for follow-up care. Refers patients for emergency care and treatment as their condition requires
  • Reviews all cardiology referrals. Examines and treats newly referred cardiology patients. Provides a plan of care and recommends appropriate follow up care.
  • Perform the following as the situation dictates:
  • Consult with appropriate specialists.
  • Utilize paraprofessionals as appropriate.
  • Respond to and provide management of cardiopulmonary arrests.
  • Interpret: electrocardiograms, exercise stress tests, holter monitor tests and cardiac monitoring.
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms.
  • Provide basic radiographic interpretation.
  • Emergency: cardioversion
  • Prescribe and administer drugs
