Job Description

Last Update: 4/24/24

My name is Victor Jensen and I am the physician recruiter at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) located in Anchorage, Alaska. I would be delighted to discuss our current opening for an invasive (non-interventional) cardiologist with you. ANMC is a Level II Trauma Center, that serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the entire state. ANMC offers over 30 specialties, and provides a full complement of acute medical and primary care services. Our unique patient population, breathtaking geography and cohesive team make this a one-of-a-kind practice opportunity!

If you enjoy the company of your partner, consider this position.

If you like to spend time with your kids before they go off to college, consider this position.

If you relish the outdoors, consider this position.

If you desire a patient focused practice, with emphasis on continuity of care (and free of administrative/profit concerns), consider this position.

As a cardiologist, you will provide outpatient management and inpatient consults with exposure to advanced disease and challenging pathologies, including advanced valvular disease. Our clinic is open Monday through Friday with our physicians working four 10-hour shifts per week, seeing 12-15 patients per day. Call averages 10-11 weeks per year and is less burdensome than average (we are not a STEMI facility, and the hospitalist team is first point of contact for cardiology transfers overnight). The cardiology inpatient service is consultative only. We provide field clinics to other regions of Alaska, giving you an opportunity to experience our vast and wonderful state.

A few of our offerings include:

  • Competitive annual salary
  • 6.5 weeks paid time off, 2 weeks CME, and 12 holidays per year
  • Guaranteed student loan reimbursement
  • Health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance
  • Pet insurance
  • $6,000/year CME allowance
  • Retirement savings plan with generous employer match
  • Generous sign-on bonus
  • On-campus child care

Do not miss out on your opportunity to live in one of the “Top 10 Best Cities to Live”. With excellent schools, cultural activities, an international airport and an abundance of outdoor activities, Anchorage offers metropolitan amenities with small-town values. In addition, there is no state income tax in Alaska and no city sales tax in Anchorage.

I would be excited to discuss this opportunity and Alaska with you. Please call me at [Register to View] or email me at [Register to View] .

Thank you,
