Locums – Madison, Wisconsin, General Cardiology Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role

• Coverage needed November 1, 2026-January 1, 2028
• General/Non-Invasive Cardiology
• Adult patients only
• Inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic coverage
• Must be willing to cover both inpatient and outpatient services
• Must be comfortable supervising APPs

Current Coverage Needs

• November 2-9: Inpatient coverage including weekend
• November 6-11: Weekend rounding plus 3 days of clinic
• December 11-16: Weekend coverage plus 3 days of clinic
• December 24-January 4: Weekend and inpatient rounding coverage

Schedule & Call

• Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-4:00 pm
• Rounding typically completed by 5:00 pm but may extend until approximately 6:00 pm
• Weeknight call: 4:00 pm-7:00 am
• Weekend call: Friday at 4:00 pm-Monday at 7:00 am
• Some evening remote reads may be available; remote-only coverage is not an option

Practice Setting & Patient Volume

• Approximately 7-22 inpatients per day
• Approximately 15 outpatient visits per day when covering clinic
• Shared inpatient caseload with 1 physician and 3 APPs
• Additional support includes Intensivists, RNs, and cardiac imaging technicians
• Level II Trauma Center
• Epic EMR

Practice Model & Clinical Expectations

• Chest pain and acute coronary syndrome
• Heart failure management
• Hypertension and dyslipidemia
• Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias
• Valvular heart disease
• EKG and echocardiogram interpretation
• Treadmill, nuclear, and echo stress testing
• Holter and event monitor interpretation
• Inpatient rounding with APP team

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified in Cardiology
• General Cardiology fellowship required
• Cardiac Imaging training preferred
• Active Wisconsin license required; IMLC accepted
• Willing to license
• BLS and ACLS required
• DEA required
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Approximately 90-day credentialing timeframe
• Online EMR modules or pre-employment training required before first day
