Internal Medicine - Cardiology Physician Opportunity - Baton Rouge, LA Position OverviewOchsner Clinic Foundation is seeking a full-time Internal Medicine - Cardiology Physician for a long-term locum tenens position in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified cardiologist interested in providing comprehensive non-invasive cardiology services in both clinic and inpatient settings. The position requires a minimum of 3 weeks per month with a strong commitment to continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinic Responsibilities (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM):
On-site patient visits with established panel of patients Reviewing diagnostic studies ordered at clinics Follow-up communication with patients Care coordination with imaging and testing teams Weekly clinic reading day rotation among cardiologistsInpatient/Hospital Responsibilities (Rotation every 5-6 weeks):
Inpatient care and patient rounding Consultation services Participation in multidisciplinary rounds Communication with referring providers Reading all hospital diagnostic studies during service weekSupervision and Credentials:
Maintain active supervising license Serve as supervising physician for Physician Assistants Provide 100% Patient Care Fund (PCF) and Conflicts of Interest (COI) coverage with no gaps Candidate Requirements Board Certification in Cardiology (must be current and on file) Fellowship in Cardiology (Required) Louisiana medical license or IMLC reciprocal license Active supervising physician license ACLS certification required Hospital privileges required at Ochsner facilities Epic EMR experience preferred Must obtain LA Patient Care Fund coverage during credentialing process No open or pending malpractice claims Clean background check (NPBD and malpractice) Organizational HighlightsOchsner Clinic Foundation serves the Baton Rouge and surrounding Louisiana communities through multiple state-of-the-art facilities including Ochsner Medical Center - Baton Rouge, Ochsner Health Center - O'Neal, Ochsner Medical Complex - The Grove, and Ochsner Heart & Vascular Health Center - Hammond.
