Job description
We are seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist for a locum tenens position in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a blended clinic and inpatient service opportunity supporting the general cardiology service line. Please see below for more information.

Job Responsibilities
Manage chest pain/ACS, heart failure, hypertension/dyslipidemia, atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias, and valve disease
Perform EKG interpretation, stress testing (treadmill, nuclear, and echo), echocardiogram interpretation, and Holter/event monitor interpretation
Round on inpatient service with an APP team; inpatient census averages 7-22 patients per day
Supervise APPs within a shared team caseload
Clinic coverage consisting of 15-minute follow-up appointments and 30-minute consults, with a consult-focused practice; average outpatient volume approximately 15 visits per day
Complete echo reading responsibilities as assigned
Adult patient population only
Work collaboratively with intensivists, RNs, and cardiac imaging technicians
Complete online EMR modules or pre-employment training prior to first day
Qualifications
Board Certified in Cardiology
General Cardiology fellowship training
Wisconsin state license required; IMLC accepted
DEA required
BLS required
ACLS required
Working Hours
Work week begins Monday at 7:00 AM with department team meeting and preparation
Monday-Friday clinic hours 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM
Inpatient rounding service model Monday-Friday alongside 3 APPs; day concludes between 4:00-5:00 PM once all patients have been seen and rounded on
Daytime coverage continues until 6:00 PM when night call begins
Inclusive weekend: Saturday 7:00 AM start, ending when all patients have been seen and rounded on, with call until 6:00 PM
Sunday is a combination of rounding and call; rounding physician's day ends when all patients are seen, call physician covers until 6:00 AM Monday
Work week ends the following Monday at 6:00 AM
Call structure: one weeknight of night call and one weekend night of call per block, with echo reading expectations
