Call coverage: Weekends ( 24-hour call (7 AM – 7 AM)

License: Active Montana medical license or IMLC

Position Overview:
A regional hospital in western Montana is seeking locum tenens cardiologists to provide both inpatient and outpatient coverage. The role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient cardiology, with responsibilities adjusted based on daily operational needs. Providers will rotate between clinic, inpatient consults, echocardiogram interpretation, and call coverage. Admissions are managed by hospitalists.
Call Details:
- Call Type: Beeper(pager)
- Average Call Volume (per 24 hours): TBD
- Call Response time : Within 20 minutes
- Average Patients Seen (on-site): TBD
- Call Coverage: Includes the Inpatient rounds/consults, Echo reading (8/day), and referral line calls
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology care
- Conduct clinic visits (approx. 12 patients/day)
- Perform inpatient consults and assigned rounding
- Interpret echocardiograms (inpatient and outpatient)
- Participate in scheduled call coverage (mostly phone-based)
- Supervise advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs)
- Collaborate with hospitalists for patient triage and care coordination
- Ensure timely response to on-call needs (20-minute response time)
Required Skills:
- Non-invasive cardiology
- Inpatient and outpatient general cardiology
- Echocardiography, including TEE
- Nuclear Cardiology (Cardiolyte, thallium, etc.)
Additional Notes:
- Supervision of PAs/NPs is required; no resident or teaching duties.
