Job description
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible non-invasive cardiologist to join an academic, Level 1 trauma center in California. The role includes both inpatient and outpatient coverage with a strong emphasis on echocardiography. Candidates with interests in heart failure, arrhythmias, imaging, preventive cardiology, or cardiometabolic syndromes are encouraged to apply. Teaching and research opportunities are available in a supportive academic environment.
Job Responsibilities
Perform and interpret TEE and TTE procedures
Manage 25–30 echos per day with support from dedicated echo techs
Collaborate with an inpatient attending cardiologist (available by phone) and interventional cardiologist (on call)
Deliver patient care in a Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital setting
Participate in teaching and academic activities
Qualifications
California medical license (required)
DEA with Schedule II (required)
BLS (required)
Advanced Echocardiography Level III certification (preferred)
Recent experience reading a high volume of echos
Strong interest in teaching and working with diverse populations; bilingual a plus
Working Hours
At least 1 week per month (2 weeks per month preferred)
6-month contract with option to extend
Start date: ASAP (emergency privileges possible in ~30 days if no malpractice)
Skills
Strong communication and collaboration in a multidisciplinary setting
Ability to manage high-acuity and routine cases
Teaching experience strongly preferred
